MISENHEIMER, NC- The Pfeiffer women's lacrosse team (7-4, 5-1 CC) dropped a highly-contested game to No. 14 Mount Olive (12-2, 6-0 CC) 11-9 on Tuesday afternoon.
Chalane Morrison led the way for the Falcons scoring three goals and adding an assist.
Pfeiffer jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, Morrison scored two of those goals and assisted on the third. The Trojans answered back scoring the last four goals of the period and headed into halftime with a 5-4 advantage. Mount Olive held the Falcons scoreless for the last eight minutes and 45 seconds of the first half.
Cheyenne Green started the scoring in the second half to tie the score three minutes into the stanza. Following a yellow card on Mount Olive,
MacKenzie Rolland netted a goal, tying the game back up at seven. The Spartans would close the game scoring three of the final four goals.ÂÂ
Mount Olive was led offensively by Claire Wigler who scored five goals and added an assist. Riann Daziel contributed three goals for the Trojans.
Kristi Korn scored two goals and added an assist. Korn is now two goals away from moving into second for goals scored in Pfeiffer history. Green added two goals and
Gracie Herbert added a goal for the Falcons.
Pfeiffer travels to Salisbury for a game against Catawba on Thursday, April 2. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
