Box Score GAFFNEY, S.C.— The Pfeiffer women's lacrosse team fell to Conference Carolinas rival No. 11 Limestone Saturday afternoon, 14-3 as the Saints clinched the regular season Conference Carolinas title.
The Falcons finish the regular season in third place with a 9-6, 6-2 CC record heading into the CC tournament.
Kristi Korn and Chalane Morrison put up the Falcons goals, with Korn recording three points (2 g, 1 a) and Morrison scoring two points (1 g, 1 a). Korn's 2 goals gives her 40 goals on the season and 51 points. Morrison has 31 goals and 39 points.
Despite the loss, Cassidy Wilson played well in net, picking up 11 saves.
Down 2-0 midway through the first half, Morrison picked up a pass from Korn, putting the ball in the net, bringing the game to within one. Afterwards, the Saints (14-2, 8-0 CC) would score seven unanswered points heading into the first minutes of the second half to go up 9-1. The Falcons would go on a 2-1 scoring soon after, with Korn putting up Pfeiffer's other two scores, including an unassisted goal three minutes into the second half. Limestone closed the game with four straight goals.
The Saints held an advantage on shots (29-13) and ground balls (18-9).
The Falcons will be at home Tuesday as they begin the CC tournament, hosting No. 6 seed Converse (9-8, 3-5 CC). The game will start at 2 p.m.
