BURLINGTON, N.C. – The Pfeiffer baseball team's (29-22) 2015 season came to a close as the Falcons fell to North Greenville (29-23) in the Conference Carolinas championship game by a score of 10-4. The Falcons wrap up the season with 29 wins which is the highest total since the 2004 season.

Connor Baldy went 3-for-4 at the plate and Cody McKenzie added two hits. Four different Falcons recorded an RBI in the game and Cole McGraw reached base safely three times in the title game.

The Crusaders Allen Staton went 2-for-3 with a run scored and four RBI's in the contest. Hunter Dilworth improved to 3-3 on the season as the righty tossed four shutout innings out of the bullpen and allowed just two hits.

Pfeiffer jumped out to an early lead as Anthony Allende had an RBI single to score McGraw who hit a one out double.

A bit of bad luck in the bottom of the first saw North Greenville put up four runs to take the lead. Pfeiffer's Tyler Lequirestruck out the first batter but the third strike got passed catcher Zac Chilton allowing the runner to reach safely. Four perfectly placed base hits accounted for the four runs in the inning as all but one scored with two outs.

Lequire, who was pitching on two days rest after dominating Erskine on Friday night, put up two zeros to allow the offense to get back into the game. Pfeiffer put up single runs in the second and third innings and cut the deficit to 4-3 heading into the bottom of the fourth.

However, the Crusaders exploded for three runs on three hits to extend the lead to 7-3. North Greenville would add two runs in the seventh and one in the eighth to take a 10-3 advantage.

Pfeiffer added one in the ninth inning on a McGraw ground out.

North Greenville entered the tournament as the No. 6 seed in a six team tournament and proceeded to go 4-0 to take the title.

Pfeiffer's Xavier RodriguezZach Huneycutt and John Elwood were named to the All-Conference Team following the game.
