MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The No. 21 Pfeiffer men's soccer team (8-2, 4-0 CC) defeated Mount Olive (0-8-1, 0-4) by a final score of 6-0 on Wednesday evening. The clean sheet was Pfeiffer's fourth of the season and second in a row.
"I thought it was a professional performance," commented Head Coach Bob Reasso. "Our whole attacking play was tremendous and our reserves played well."
The Falcons jumped out to an early advantage as Roberto Soares scored his fourth goal in the past two games just 1:16 into the contest. Martim Galvao lofted a cross into the box that Santi Moar tipped to Soares for the easy goal. In the sixth minute, Moar netted his fifth goal of the season with the assist going to Jaime Siaj. The first half scoring would end in the 38th minute as Cristobal Allendes found Nathan Regis in the box for the third Falcon goal of the evening.
Regis would add his second goal of the game in the 60th minute to give him nine goals on the season and 70 in his career. Mateo Garces Yepes added his first goal of the season on a penalty kick after Mount Olive was whistled for a foul in the box in the 80th minute. Alex Stoiljkovic tallied the final goal of the evening with the assist going to Felix Erana. Stoiljkovic sent his shot from 25 yards out and put it perfectly in the top right corner.
Pfeiffer has scored at least four goals in every home match this season and averages 5.0 goals per home game.
The win was Pfeiffer's 25th consecutive win at Lefko Field.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday as they travel to North Greenville for a 3 p.m. match.
