SALISBURY, NC – The Pfeiffer Falcon women's tennis team (3-0) traveled Catawba to face non-conference opponent, the Catawba Indians (7-2) at the Johnson Tennis Center Pfeiffer defeated the Indians 7-2 as Olivia Nelms defeated Liz Renteria (6-2, 6-0) in the first position in singles.
The Falcons Hannah Watson defeated Maddy Henderson (6-1, 6-1) in the third position. Mylene Petitpas defeated Kristen Rocko (7-5, 3-6, 11-9). Mara Hofstetter was victorious over Lauren Sledd (6-0, 2-6, 10-8) Ashleigh Brimo defeated Rachel Rudisill (6-2, 6-3).
In doubles, the Falcon's took all three matches where in the first position Mendoza and Watson, 8-6, defeated Renteria and Onchi. In the second position Nelms and Hoffstetter defeated Sledd and Rocko, 8-5, and in the third position, Petitpas and Brimo were victorious over Rudisill and Henderson, 8-2.
Announced earlier on Thursday, the Falcons next match at Belmont Abbey on Saturday has been postponed but Pfeiffer will to action on Sunday, February 21 as they play host to Queens (N.C.) at 1 p.m.
