Box Score MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - In their season opener, the Pfeiffer women's lacrosse team (0-1, 0-1 CC) dropped a Conference Carolinas battle at Mount Olive (5-0, 3-0) by a final score of 15-4 on Saturday afternoon. Gracie Herbert and Molly O'Friel each scored twice for the Falcons.
The Trojans held a 36-14 advantage in shots on the afternoon and took a 21-8 lead in ground balls. Pfeiffer's Cassidy Wilson made 17 saves in goal.
Pfeiffer didn't have an answer for the duo of Riann Daziel and Claire Wigler who each recorded five goals. Wigler added three assists for eight points on the day.
The Trojans scored the first six goals of the game and never looked back. The Trojans took a 9-1 advantage into the half and cruised to the victory.
Hannah Knight made eight saves to improve to 5-0 in goal for the Trojans.
Cheyenne Green led the Falcons with four ground balls and O'Friel registered four draw controls. Green also caused a team-high three turnovers in the contest.
Pfeiffer looks to rebound as they travel to Lenoir-Rhyne for a non-conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
