MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Whitney Jaffe set a new Pfeiffer record with 10 assists as the Falcons women's lacrosse team (2-5, 2-1 CC) dominated Erskine (0-5, 0-3) by a final score of 15-5 on Friday night. Jaffe broke the record of nine which stood since 2006 when Melissa Andersen handed out nine helpers against Molloy.
Pfeiffer controlled the game from the start as Jaffe set up Cheyenne Green for the game's opening goal, just 36 seconds into the game. Moments later, Jaffe would find Gracie Herbert to put the Falcons up two. After an Erskine goal, Pfeiffer would rattle off five consecutive goals to take the advantage and never look back.
At the half, Pfeiffer held a 9-3 lead as Green netted a hat trick in the opening 30 minutes. The lead would grow to 10 in the second half and Jaffe set the new record with 2:07 left in the game as she fed Herbert for the final goal of the contest.
Marley Llinas and Alanna Carballo each finished with two goals and an assist for the Flying Fleet.
Cassidy Wilson earned the win in goal, playing the first half and registering three saves. Emily James played the final 30 minutes and made four stops.
The Falcons held a 28-20 advantage in ground balls and held a 33-15 lead in shots. Pfeiffer dominated the draw, recording 17 draw controls to just five for the visitors.
Green finished with four goals for Pfeiffer and Ally Unkenholz netted her first career hat trick to go along with an assist. Herbert and Molly O'Friel added two goals in the contest.
The Falcons return to action on Tuesday afternoon as they continue their eight game home stand with a 4 p.m. matchup against Saint Leo.
