Box Score MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer women's lacrosse team (2-7) dropped a non-conference game to Bentley (2-2) by a final score of 16-4 on Friday afternoon at N.E. Lefko Field. Ellie Shuman tallied five goals and an assist for the visitors and four others added two goals apiece.
The Falcons offense saw Cheyenne Green, Ally Unkenholz, Whitney Jaffe and Gracie Herbert all score once on the afternoon. Cassidy Wilson made five saves in goal and Emily James recorded one top in the final 14:07 of action.
Bentley held a 34-14 lead in shots and a 19-10 advantage in ground balls. Pfeiffer had no answer for Kathleen Gillespie for Bentley who recorded a game-high nine draw controls and added two ground balls on the day.
Bentley started hot and scored the first six goals of the contest. Pfeiffer was able to fight back and finished the half by scoring three of the final four goals to cut the lead to 7-3.
Jaffe started the second half with a goal to make the score 7-4 but the visitors responded by scoring the final nine goals of the contest to come away with the victory.
Pfeiffer returns to action next Thursday as they host Emmanuel in the finale of an eight game home stretch. The opening draw is scheduled for 4 p.m.
