BELMONT, N.C. - The Pfeiffer Falcons (11-5-1, 7-2-1 CC) dominated their way to a 9-0 sweep versus Belmont Abbey Crusaders (7-17, 4-7 CC ) on Saturday as Olivia Nelms continued her 25 match Conference Caroinas singles winning streak by defeating Darian DeFrench, 6-0, 6-2 from the first position.
Valeria Mendoza out of the second positon beat Kiersten Cox, 8-0. In the third position, Hannah Watson took down Alex Weber, 6-1, 6-0. Mylene Petitpas defeated Brylee Seitz, 8-4 in the fourth position. Mara Hofstetter defeated Erika Noblett in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3 from the fifth spot. In the sixth postion, Ashleigh Brimo beat Ali Bates, 8-3.
Earlier in the day the Falcons swept through the young Crusader doubles teams. Mendoza and Watson beat Cox and Rachel Subik, 8-1. Nelms and Hofstetter defeated Lillie Mehan and DeFrench in the second position, 8-4. Petitpas and Brimo, out of the third position, took care of Seitz and Weber, 8-3.
Pfeiffer finishes off the regular season on Monday as they travel to North Greenville at 1:00 p.m.
