Danville, V.A. -- The Pfeiffer women's tennis team downed Averett on Friday 7-2 for their third straight win. Their record improves to 6-7 on the season.

In singles play, Anna Branson picked up a win over Hannah Mattson 6-1, 6-1. Ally Delaney also scored a victory by defeating Eleanor Crane 6-4, 6-2.

Other singles winners for the Falcons were senior ShaNisha White (6-0, 6-1), Maddie Hatley (6-0, 6-0), and Sydney Honeycutt (6-2, 6-1).

Pfeiffer also took two out of three matches in doubles play. The team of Delaney and White took home the first win in doubles play for the Falcons with an 8-3 victory. Honeycutt and Hatley also picked up a win by defeating Ashley Thornton and Tyler Goad 8-1.

Pfeiffer will play again on Saturday when they travel to Salem to take on the Spirits. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m.
