Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Drops Home Opener to Shaw, 9-0

Misenheimer, N.C. (Feb. 25, 2019) – The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team opened the 2019 spring season with a 9-0 loss to visiting Shaw on Monday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center.

The Falcons fell in all three doubles matches, with Darby Sherrill (Hiddenite, N.C) and Haylee Dixon (Washington, N.C.) performing the best at No. 2, falling by an 8-2 count.

In singles play, Shaw swept all six matches.  Charlotte Craven (Carthage, N.C.) performed well for the Falcons, falling by a 6-2, 6-4 score at No. 1.  Sydney Gray (Mt. Pleasant, N.C.) also had a productive outing, taking two games in the first set, but falling by the 6-2, 6-0 final.

With the loss, Pfeiffer falls to 1-3 overall while Shaw improves to 2-2 on the season.
