Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Gets Big Win at Ferrum

Ferrum, Va. – The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team won two of three doubles matches and four of the six contested singles matches to earn a hard-fought 6-3 road win at Ferrum.

THE BASICS
Pfeiffer took a 2-1 lead after the doubles competition with Ferrum trailed 2-1 after doubles, with Darby Sherrill and Haylee Dixon winning their match at No. 2 by an 8-7 (1-0) score.  The duo of Maddie Hatley and Sydney Honeycutt also took care of the opposition at No. 3 doubles by an 8-3 score

In singles action, the Falcons' Charlotte Craven won at No. 3, outlasting Ferrum's Alexandria Dixon 7-5, 1-6, 7-6 (4-0) in a hotly contested match.  Haylee Dixon took her No. 4 singles match by a 6-0, 6-2 scored while Sydney Honeycutt rallied at No. 5 after dropping the first set to take a 6-7, 6-0, 6-2 win.

Maddie Hatley would round out the Falcon winners at No. 6, earning a 7-6 (5-0), 6-7 (0-4), 6-0 win over Ferrum's Hailee Green.
