Pfeiffer Men's Tennis Drops 7-2 Decision at Averett
Danville, Va. (March 24, 2019) – The Pfeiffer University men's tennis team managed just two singles wins on the day, falling by a 7-2 score at Averett in a USA South match.
The Falcons were able to take both the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches.
Senior Tom Hubble won his match at No. 1 singles over Nicolas Yanes, 6-1, 1-0. Yanes retired in the second set, giving Hubble the win.
At no 2 singles, Raul Ruiz collected the win, besting Patrick Sheilds by a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7) score.
Averett then swept matches 3-6 and won all three doubles matches to win 7-2.
The loss drops Pfeiffer to 4-4 on the season and 0-1 in USA South play while Averett improves to 7-2 and 3-0 in league play.
