Box Score Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Picks Up First Dual Win Over Alfred, 8-1
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 9, 2020) – The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team picked up their first dual win of the season in an 8-1 win over Alfred University on Monday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center.

THE BASICS
Pfeiffer swept five of the contested singles matches and one of the two contested doubles matched in the 8-1 win.
In singles, Sydney Honeycutt won a competitive three-set affair over Tori Pellegrino, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Elithe Hudson won her No. 2 match in straight sets by a 6-2, 7-5 count. Emma Gray Beacham took her match at No. 3 by identical 6-2, 6-2 scores while Cortney Queen and Allie Wike won their matches at No. 4 and No. 5 by identical 6-1, 6-2 scores.
In doubles play, Honeycutt teamed with Maddie Hatley to win their match at No. 2 by an 8-7 (5-0) count. Alfred won their only point of the match at No. 1 doubles, with the team of Lauren Boshart and Pellegrino taking down Pfeiffer's Anna Branson and Elithe Hudson by an 8-7 (4-0) score.
BACK ON COURT
The Falcons will return to play on Tuesday, March 10 with a road match in Charlotte, N.C. against Johnson C. Smith University. The Falcons and Golden Bulls will square off at 3:00 p.m. from the Coleman-Cuthbertson Courts on the JCSU campus.
