Box Score Pfeiffer Men's Tennis Improves to 2-0 With 7-2 Win Over Hampden-Sydney
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 13, 2021) – The Pfeiffer University men's tennis team captured a 7-2 nonconference win over visiting ODAC foe Hampden-Sydney in the first home match of the 2021 season

THE BASICS
The Falcons claimed five wins in singles play and two in the doubles matches to take a solid 7-2 win.
At No. 1 singles, Raul Ruiz (Beni, Bolivia) took down HSC's Tyler Brice by a 6-4, 7-6 score. Dylan Masters (Mooresville, N.C.) also bested his opponent in straight sets, winning 7-6, 6-2.
Benedikt Pfeiffer (Schliersee, Germany), had little problems in his match at No. 3, winning 6-0, 6-1. Alec Taylor (Mooresville, N.C.) also had a relatively easy time at No. 4 singles, winning 6-1, 6-1.
In the best match of the afternoon, Phillip Conaway (Sharpsburg, Ga.) battled back from losing the first set to win the No. 5 singles match, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
Hampden-Sydney was able to take the No. 6 singles match when Bryson Alley downed Pfeiffer's Caleb Phillips (Winston-Salem, N.C.) by a 6-2, 6-3 score.
In doubles play, Pfeiffer won both the No. 1 and No. 2 matches while HSC took the No. 3 match.
At No. 1, Ruiz and Masters won 8-5 while at No. 2, Pfeiffer and Taylor took the 8-1 win. Conaway and Phillips came up short in their match at No. 3, falling by an 8-4 score.

The Falcon's will next be in action on Sunday, March 21 at Noon in a USA South match with Piedmont College at the Knapp Tennis Center.
