Piedmont Drops Pfeiffer Women's Tennis, 9-0

Misenheimer, N.C. (March 22, 2021) – The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 nonconference match to visiting Piedmont on Sunday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center.

THE BASICS
Piedmont swept all contested matches, taking the 9-0 win.

At No. 1 singles, Anna Branson (Greensboro, N.C.) fell by a 6-0, 6-0 score while at No. 2 Darby Sherrill (Hiddenite, N.C.) lost her match 6-1, 6-0.

Charlotte Craven (Carthage, N.C.) dropped her No. 3 singles match, 6-2, 6-2 while Elithe Hudson (Albemarle, N.C.) fell at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-2

Senior Sydney Honeycutt (Denton, N.C.) dropped her  No. 5 singles match, 6-0, 6-0 while Taylor Brashears also lost, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
 
In doubles play, Piedmont swept all three matches, willing 8-0 at No. 1, 8-1 at No 2 and 8-0 at No. 3.

BACK ON COURT
The Falcon women's team will next play a USA South match on Tuesday, March 23 at Meredith.  Start time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
