Box Score 2 Pfeiffer Softball Splits Doubleheader With Methodist
Misenheimer, N.C. (April 17, 2021) – The Pfeiffer Falcons softball team split a USA South doubleheader with Methodist University, falling in game one 5-3 and winning game two 5-0 at Jack Ingram Field on Saturday afternoon

How it Happened
Game 1 –Pfeiffer got an RBI single from Ashlyn Kennedy in the second inning to go up 1-0. Methodist struck for four runs in the third inning to take the 4-1 lead. The Falcons' Kyndell Warren hit a solo home run over the left field wall to bring Pfeiffer to 4-2, but Methodist got a bases loaded walk in the fifth to extend their lead to 5-1.
In the seventh, Makenzie Pennell scored on an error to provide the eventual 5-3 final.
Game 2 – Pfeiffer manufactured a pair of runs in the fourth inning. With runners on second and third with one out, Warren laid down a perfect bunt that allowed Caiti Mickles to score, making it 1-0. Pfeiffer would push across another run on a Methodist error to make it 2-0.
Mickles would then put the game out of reach when she ripped a three-run home run over the left-center wall to put the Falcons up 5-0.
Ashlyn Kennedy earned the pitching win for Pfeiffer, as she struck out three batters and allowed three hits in 3.2 innings of work.
