The Pfeiffer University women's lacrosse dropped a 13-7 nonconference game at Methodist University on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED


First Half

After spotting Methodist an early 2-0 lead, Pfeiffer scored three unanswered goals, the first on a free position shot from freshman Julia Barbato at the 13:58 mark of the first half.  Senior Meredith Manson then took a feed from junior Tracy Torrez at 8:50, scoring a man-down goal to tie the game at 2-2.  Pfeiffer then went up 3-2 at 6:06 left in the half on an unassisted goal from senior Starnice Galloway.

Methodist closed the game with fourth straight goals to take the 6-3 lead into the halftime break.

Second Half
Barbato opened the second half scoring, making it 6-4 on an assist from sophomore Alyson Hanlon at 27:04.

Methodist then scored twice in under a minute to go up 8-4 before senior Gabby Bosak connected on a man-up goal with an assist from Barbato.

Galloway added another goal at 18:47 on an assist from Bosak to bring the score to 9-6, but Methodist scored four straight to take the 13-6 lead.  Manson scored the final goal of the game on a free position shot with 1:L36 left to provide the 13-7 final.

Inside the Box Score
Three players scored a pair of goals each, with Barbato also recording an assist, finishing with three points.  Galloway and Manson also had a pair of goals for the Falcons.

Freshman goalkeeper Jordan Pendergraft made eight saves in goal for the Falcons.

Up Next

The Falcons have earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming USA South East Division Tournament and will travel to top-seeded Piedmont on Sunday, April 25 for a 4:00 p.m. matchup with the Lions.
