Box Score 2 Pfeiffer Softball Takes A Pair of 8-4 Wins at William Peace
Raleigh, N.C. (April 25, 2021) – The Pfeiffer University softball team took a pair of 8-4 wins over William Peace University on Sunday afternoon in the final regular-season USA South doubleheader for both teams.

How it Happened
Game 1 –Makenzie Pennell and Hannah Tyner both belted home runs in the top of the eighth inning to propel Pfeiffer to an 8-4 extra inning win.
After battling to a 3-3 tie to force extra innings Pennell's blast put the Falcons up 5-3. After singles from Caiti Mickles and Paige Love, Tyner's three-run shot extended the Pfeiffer lead to 8-3.
WPU started the eighth with a single, putting runners on first and third. The Pacers would score when Pfeiffer turned a double play, making it 8-4. Mickles then got the third out via strikeout to end the game, improving her season pitching record to 8-6.
Game 2 – Ashlyn Kennedy and Caiti Mickles each had a pair of RBI and Addison York had two doubles as Pfeiffer won game two by an identical 8-4 score.
Kyndell Warren went 3-of-3, including a triple and scored three times in the win. Mickles once again got the pitching win after going 4.1 innings while striking out three batters. Taylor Parrish threw 2.2 innings and allowed just two runs and two hits while striking out five WPU batters.

The wins have earned Pfeiffer the No. 1 seed for the upcoming USA South East Division Championship series. The Falcons will host second-seeded N.C. Wesleyan at Jack Ingram Field this upcoming weekend.
