Pfeiffer Men's Tennis Falls at Methodist

Fayetteville, N.C. (April 3, 2021) – The Pfeiffer University men's tennis team opened their USA South schedule on Saturday afternoon, falling to Methodist University by a 9-0 score at the Clayton Tennis Center in Fayetteville, N.C.

RECORDS
Pfeiffer – 2-2, 0-1 USA South
Methodist – 5-12, 2-1 USA South

THE BASICS
Methodist swept all five singles matches and both doubles matches that were contested in the 9-0 win.

Benedikt Pfeiffer narrowly lost his match at No. 2 singles, falling by a 6-2, 1-6, 0-1 score.  In the tiebreaker, Pfeiffer lost a narrow 11-9 decision.

In doubles play, Dylan Masters and Phillip Conaway fell at No. 2 by an 8-5 score while at No. 1, Pfeiffer and Alec Taylor dropped an 8-3 match.

BACK ON COURT
The Falcons will next return home to play host a pair of USA South matches this week.  The first match will be on Saturday, April 10 at 2:00 p.m. against William Peace.  Pfeiffer will then host Averett on Sunday, April 11 at 1:00 p.m.
