Box Score Falcon Comeback Falls Short in 10-8 Women's Lacrosse Setback at Piedmont
Demorest, Ga. (April 8, 2021) – The Pfeiffer University women's lacrosse team could not overcome a 6-2 deficit despite a furious second half rally, falling at Piedmont College 10-8 in a USA South game on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
Homestanding Piedmont College bolted to an early 3-0 lead before senior Meredith Manson (Auburndale, Fla.) put the Falcons on the board with an unassisted man-down goal at 16:27, making it 3-1.
Piedmont then scored three straight goals before Ashley Bragg (Dallas, Ga.) made it 6-2 on an assist from Gabby Bosak (Charleston, S.C.) to close the first half scoring.
Second Half
Pfeiffer came out strong in the second half on goals from junior Morgan Cecil (St. Cloud, Fla.) and freshman Julia Barbato (West Palm Beach, Fla.), cutting the lead to 6-4. Bosak notched assists on both goals.
Piedmont then reeled off four goals to extend the lead to 10-4, but Pfeiffer responded scoring four goals in a 1:24 span to close to 10-8. Barbato, Alexis Murriel (Gastonia, N.C.) and Alyson Hanlon (Summerfield, N.C.) each scored in the span, with Barbato scoring a pair.
The Falcons would get no closer, falling by the narrow 10-8 margin.
