Pfeiffer Women's Tennis Takes 8-1 USA South Win at Meredith
Raleigh, N.C. (April 9, 2021) – The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team used a dominating performance in earning an 8-1 USA South road win at Meredith College.

THE BASICS
The Falcons took two of the three doubles points, winning at Nos. 1 and 2. Anna Branson (Greensboro, N.C.) and Elithe Hudson (Albemarle, N.C.) won 8-2 at No. 1 as did Darby Sherrill (Hiddenite, N.C.) and Sydney Honeycutt (Denton, N.C.) at No. 2 by an identical 8-2 score.
In singles play, Pfeiffer swept all six matches, with Branson claiming a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1. Sherrill had no trouble in her match at No.2, as she won 6-0, 6-0. Charlotte Craven (Carthage, N.C.) picked up the 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles. Honeycutt took her match at No. 4 by a 6-0, 6-1 score while Hudson claimed the No. 5 match 6-1, 6-2.
Taylor Brashears (Seattle, Wash.) earned her first collegiate win at No. 6, winning 3-6, 6-3 (10-6) to round out play.
BACK ON COURT
The Falcon women's team will return to action on Sunday, April 11 with a 1:00 p.m. home match against Averett University.
