Pfeiffer Women's Lacrosse Downs N.C. Wesleyan on Senior Day
Misenheimer, N.C. (April 25, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University women's lacrosse team cruised to a 16-6 win over visiting N.C. Wesleyan on a warm Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at Lefko Field

HOW IT HAPPENED
Pfeiffer outscored the visiting Bishops 4-0 in the first quarter and were never threatened. Pfeiffer also blitzed NCWC in the second quarter to take a 10-3 lead at halftime.
NCWC opened the third quarter with a man-up goal to close to 10-4, but
Rmondrah Singleton got her first career goal at the 9:42 mark to push the Pfeiffer lead to 11-4. Following a Bishop goal at 4:45, Pfeiffer put together three consecutive goals, the first from
Chloe Johnson followed by a pair from
Julia Barbato to go up 14-5. NCWC would get their final goal of the afternoon with 19 seconds left in the third quarter to bring the score to 14-6.
In the fourth quarter,
Dashaniq Sidbury scored her first career goal at the 9:52 mark and then added another score at 4:26 on an assist from
Elise Hanna to provide the 16-6 final.
Inside the Box Score
Sophomore
Julia Barbato led the Falcons with five goals. She also managed three ground balls in the win.
Alexis Murriel also had a terrific outing, scoring four goals and dishing three assists. She also had eight ground balls, and caused turnovers and had six draw control wins. Murriel caused 69 turnovers over the course of the season, which now stands as the program record for a single season.
Senior
Ashley Bragg added a pair of goals in her final game while fellow senior
Jessica Vazquez notched an assist. Fellow senior
Tracy Torrez had two assists and two ground balls in the Senior Day game.
Defensively, goalkeeper
Jordan Pendergraft made nine saves on the afternoon, completing her sophomore campaign with 163 saves, which is the third-best in a single season in program history.
As a team, Pfeiffer set the school record with 202 caused turnovers in a season.
Pfeiffer finishes their season with a 5-11 overall record and completed USA South play at 4-6.
