Pfeiffer Women's Lacrosse Opens USA South Play With 23-6 Win Over William Peace
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 9, 2023) – The Pfeiffer women's lacrosse team opened their USA South schedule with a  decisive 23-6 win over visiting William Peace University at a rainy Lefko Field on Saturday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Pfeiffer's
Julia Barbato (West Chester, Pa.) scored the first three goals of the game and had 11 points on the day in helping Pfeiffer to their first win of the season. Barbato would also notch her 100
th career point on the day with a goal at the 8:39 mark of the fourth quarter.
Pfeiffer used a nine-goal first quarter to establish the early lead, carrying a 9-2 advantage into the second quarter.
Pfeiffer continued to pour it on, scoring four more in the second quarter to lead 13-3 at halftime.
The Falcon defense kept WPU off the scoreboard in the third while the offense put four more scores on the board to lead 17-3 after the third.
Pfeiffer also outscored WPU in the fourth quarter 6-3 in taking the 23-6 win.
Inside the Box Score
Three different Pfeiffer players scored their first career goals in the game, with freshman
Madeline Chadbourne (Jacksonville, N.C.) getting her first collegiate goal at the 2:59 mark of the first quarter. Teammate
Mahogany Reyes (New York, N.Y.) also scored her first career goal at 14:34 of the third quarter while
Elise Hanna (Bozeman, Mont.) scored with 30 seconds remaining in the third quarter on a free-position opportunity to log her first career goal.
Not to be outdone,
Skylar Davis (Apex, N.C.) had a career-high three goals in the win.
Pfeiffer goalkeeper
Jordan Pendergraft (Apex, N.C.) had a stellar day in goal, as she made five saves in the win.
Samantha Autry would score three of WPU's six goals to lead the Pacers.
