Pfeiffer Women's Outdoor Track & Field Has Solid Performances at Adidas/Winthrop Invitational

Rock Hill, S.C. (March 26, 2023) –The Pfeiffer University women's track & field team had solid outings against a Division I heavy field at the Irwin Belk Track at Winthrop University this past Friday and Saturday.
 
Leading the way was junior Madison Lowery (Kannapolis, N.C.) who placed third overall in the 5000m, third in the 1500m and fifth in the 800m with a new personal best.
 
Pfeiffer also got a strong performance from junior Alex Stancell (Liberty, S.C.) who finished fifth overall in the javelin throw with a mark of 28.71m. Stancell also recorded new personal best marks in the shot put, with a throw of 9.89m, in the discus with a toss of 21.27m, and  in the hammer throw at 36.04m

The Pfeiffer track and field teams will return to competition this upcoming Friday and Saturday, March 31-April 1 when they travel back to High Point, N.C. to take part in the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point University.
