CONCORD, N.C. (April 25, 2026) - Pfeiffer University claimed fourth place and turned in a record-setting performance at the USA South Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
The Falcons were highlighted by multiple event victories, school records and standout efforts across jumps, relays and distance races.
Freshman
Ge'Kayla Goins led the Falcons' surge with a dominant all-around performance. Goins captured the long jump title with a mark of 5.44 meters and added a conference championship in the 400-meter hurdles, winning in 1:05.33. That time set a new school record, USA South meet record and the fastest mark ever recorded in conference history. Goins also finished second in the triple jump with a leap of 11.09 meters.
Makayla Borst delivered a strong showing in the distance events, winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 12:10.73. She added a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:11.16 and placed sixth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 5:24.36.
Pfeiffer's relay teams continued the record-breaking pace. The 4x400-meter relay squad of
Katelyn Lentz,
Ryan Germain, Goins and
Mesiyah Howell placed second in 4:05.45, setting a new school record.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Goins, Howell,
Kenya Copeland and
Savannah Wise finished third in 50.18, which was also a school record.
Ryan Germain added to the Falcons' distance success by placing second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 12:39. Germain also finished sixth in the 800 meters, crossing in 2:31.36.
In the field events,
Hadley Smith delivered a career-best performance in the pole vault, finishing fourth with a vault of 2.30 meters (7 feet, 6.5 inches), establishing a new school record.
