Virginia Beach, Va. (April 15, 2024)– The Pfeiffer University women's tennis team won their fifth-straight match on Sunday, downing Virginia Wesleyan 9-0 in Virginia Beach, Va.

THE BASICS
Pfeiffer won each match in straight sets, including all three doubles matches. The most competitive match of the day came at No. 1 doubles, where the team of
Megan Rekieta and
Caimbree Gann outlasted their VWU opponents by an 8-7 score.
Riley Isley and
Alison Sloop won their No. 2 match by an 8-4 score while
Kristen Colie and
Haley Ingenito took their No. 3 match 8-3.
In singles play, Colie put Pfeiffer up 4-0 with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles.Â
Riley Isley then clinched the match at No. 4 singles by overpowering her VWU counterpart, 6-2, 6-2.
Megan Rekieta (No. 2),
Caimbree Gann (No. 1),
Haley Ingenito (No. 3) and
Alison Sloop (No. 5) ended the match with wins in their respective singles matches to provide the 9-0 final.
The Next Match
The Falcons will return to play on Sunday, April 20 in their final regular season match of the season at William Peace University in Raleigh, N.C. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
