Pfeiffer Women's Lacrosse Comes Up Short at Brevard, 13-12
Brevard, N.C. (April 2, 2024) – The Pfeiffer University women's lacrosse team's late fourth quarter rally fell just short as Brevard College took a 13-12 USA South win on Tuesday afternoon an Ives-Lemel Family Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 13-8 midway through the fourth quarter, Pfeiffer went on a three-goal spurt to pull to within 13-11 with 2:56 left to play. Pfeiffer would have a few good opportunities to draw closer, but
Julia Barbato's shot at 2:34 sailed high of the Tornado goal.Â
Barbato had another chance with 40 seconds to play, but a save from Brevard goalkeeper Kyla Smith-Fondall kept Brevard's two-goal cushion intact. Pfeiffer then forced a turnover and Barbato cashed in on a player-down goal with four seconds remaining to provide the 13-12 final.
Inside the Box Score
Barbato continued her strong play, scoring four goals and adding an assist. She also had five ground balls and five draw controls in the loss.
Sophomore
Skyla Jo Charette and junior
Analise Robinson would each score three goals, with Robinson adding two assists, finishing with five points. Robinson also managed three ground balls and one caused turnover.
Emma LaFave also had a great game defensively, as she had a team-best sox ground balls and caused one turnover.
Senior
Chloe Johnson rounded out the scoring for Pfeiffer, finishing with a pair of goals and a team-best three assists.
Falcon goalkeeper
Jordan Pendergraft faced 25 Brevard shots and coming away with eight saves.
