Pfeiffer Women's Lacrosse Falls in USA South Tournament at Piedmont
Demorest, Ga. (April 30, 2024) – The Pfeiffer University women's lacrosse team dropped a 24-6 decision in the first round of the USA South Tournament at Piedmont University on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The third-seeded Lions jumped on the Falcons early, scoring the first five goals of the game. Pfeiffer would then put together four unanswered goals to draw to 6-4.Â
Julia Barbato scored a "player-up" goal with 2:07 left in the first quarter followed by back-to-back scores from
Analise Robinson.
Freshman
Victoria Tita scored her second career goal at the 13:33 mark of the second quarter, pulling Pfeiffer to within 6-4.
Piedmont answered with seven straight goals to boost the lead to 12=4 at halftime. The Lions then opened the third quarter with back-to-back scores to make it 14-4.
Tita then scored another player-up goal for Pfeiffer at 11:17 of the third quarter, making it 14-5.
Piedmont went on another run, this time scoring eight straight goals to take the commanding 22-5 lead.
Junior
Analise Robinson would cap the Falcon scoring at 4:33 of the fourth quarter for the last Pfeiffer goal.
Piedmont would add two more scores late in the fourth quarter to provide the 24-6 final.
Inside the Box Score
Analise Robinson finished with three goals and one assist to lead Pfeiffer while Tita had a pair of goals.Â
Julia Barbato would cap her Falcon career with one goal, one assist and three ground balls. Barbato would also have four draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers.
For her career, Barbato finished with 152 career goals, which places her third on the all-time goals scored list. She also amassed 224 points, which puts her in second-place all-time.
Goalkeeper
Jordan Pendergraft would make 11 saves in the loss, ending her career with a program-best 602 saves.
The Falcons end the first season under head coach
Sue Murphy with a 7-10 overall record, which is the most wins since the 2019 season when the Falcons finished with a 10-2 overall record.
