WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Oct. 14, 2025) — Pfeiffer University dropped a conference matchup Tuesday evening, falling in straight sets to Salem (NC), 25-10, 25-22, 25-14, at Varsity Gym.

The Falcons (9-11, 5-5 USA South) battled through a competitive second set but couldn't overcome Salem's consistent attack.

Abby Lewis led Pfeiffer offensively with eight kills and a .286 hitting percentage, while Gabi Gama added seven kills and a team-high 13 digs. Madison Tate contributed four kills, two service aces, and two blocks, while Faith Miller chipped in three kills and an ace.

Setter Karmen Rion paced the Falcons with 16 assists and six digs, and libero Gabby Edwards added seven digs and an assist.

Pfeiffer struggled to find rhythm in the opening set, as they committed six errors. The Falcons rebounded in the second frame, keeping pace with Salem through six ties and five lead changes, but ultimately fell short.

Salem closed out the match with a dominant third set, fueled by strong serving and net play.

Salem (18-4, 8-2 USA South) was led by Aspen Bradley and Ella Brameus, who combined for 25 kills and five service aces.

Pfeiffer will step out of conference play when they travel to Greenville, S.C. to take on Bob Jones in a nonconference match on Thursday, Oct. 16.  Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
