STAUNTON, Va. (Oct. 9, 2025) — Pfeiffer University rolled past Mary Baldwin University in straight sets on Thursday evening, securing a dominant 3–0 victory (25–13, 25–9, 25–18) in USA South volleyball action at the MBU Physical Activity Center.
The Falcons (9–10, 5–4 USA South) showcased a balanced attack and efficient execution, hitting .293 as a team while limiting the Squirrels to a negative hitting percentage.
Pfeiffer's offense was led by junior outsite hitter
Gabi Gama, who posted eight kills and six digs, and
Haedyn McGrath, who added seven kills on a .500 clip. Senior
Madison Tate contributed five kills and two solo blocks, while junior setter
Karmen Rion orchestrated the offense with 14 assists and two service aces.
Pfeiffer controlled the match from the outset, jumping ahead early in each set and never trailing in the second. The Falcons served aggressively, tallying seven aces, including two apiece from
Gabby Edwards and Shelby Beck. Edwards also led the team with nine digs.
Mary Baldwin (6–12, 0–8 USA South) struggled to find momentum, committing 24 attack errors and hitting –.077 for the match. Delaney Bolbach and Hayley DeShazo each recorded four kills to lead the Fighting Squirrels.
Pfeiffer will continue USA South play on Tuesday, Oct. 16 with a 6:00 p.m. road match at Salem College in Winston-Salem, N.C.
