Pfeiffer Volleyball Gets Win Over Mary Baldwin on Senior Day
MISENHEIMER, N.C. (Nov. 8, 2025) — Pfeiffer University rallied after dropping the opening set to defeat Mary Baldwin 3-1 (22-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-16) in USA South women's volleyball action on Saturday afternoon at Merner Gym on Senior Day.
The Falcons (15-15, 9-9 USA South) leaned on efficient hitting and balanced contributions to close out their regular season.
Madison Tate led Pfeiffer with 13 kills on a blistering .650 hitting percentage, while
Haedyn McGrath added 10 kills and three service aces for 14 points. Setter
Karmen Rion directed the offense with 24 assists and chipped in nine digs.
Faith Miller anchored the defense at the net with three solo blocks and two block assists, while
Gabi Gama provided 11 kills and three service aces. Pfeiffer finished with 50 kills on a .250 hitting percentage and out-dug Mary Baldwin 50-51 in a tight defensive battle.
Mary Baldwin (7-23, 0-18 USA South) was paced by Kennedy Mills, who tallied a match-high 20 kills and two aces for 22 points. Setter Kathryn Nguyen dished out 34 assists and added nine digs.
After Mary Baldwin took the first set 25-22, Pfeiffer responded with steady play, limiting errors and capitalizing on service pressure. The Falcons closed the match with a dominant fourth set, hitting .346 and holding the Fighting Squirrels to a .000 attack percentage.
The Falcons will turn their focus to the USA South Tournament, which begins on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The sixth-seeded Falcons will travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to take on the third-seeded Salem College Spirits The match time has not been determined.
