Pfeiffer Men's Basketball to Play Roanoke in NCAA Tournament
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 3, 2025) – The Pfeiffer University men's basketball team will travel to Newport News, Va. for the NCAA Tournament and will face the Roanoke College Maroons in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament. Christopher Newport will host the first and second rounds and will play John Jay College, as the NCAA has announced the field for the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament.
First round games will be on Friday, March 7 with times to be determined.
The Falcons (18-7) won the USA South regular season title by going 11-2 in league play. They followed that by winning the USA South Tournament in convincing fashion, downing Mary Baldwin 90-64 in the semifinals and thumping N.C. Wesleyan 108-80 in the championship game. This marks the sixth NCAA Tournament appearance for the Falcons and first in Pfeiffer's Division III era. Pfeiffer also made seven NAIA postseason appearances in the 1980s and 1990s.
Pfeiffer rolled through USA South play, finishing 11-2 in league play, with the losses coming by a combined four points. The Falcons were especially tough in Merner Gym, as they posted a 12-2 overall record and a perfect 9-0 against USA South teams.

Jaylen Hamilton also had a stellar USA South Tournament and were named to the All-Tournament team.
The Falcons will take on Roanoke College, who finished 23-5 overall and 14-2 in ODAC play. The Maroons received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament despite falling to Guilford College in the ODAC Championship game by a 79-74 score on Sunday, March 2.
Tickets for the NCAA First and Second Round at CNU's Freeman Center will be $15 for chairback seats and $10 for general admission.
