SALISBURY, N.C. - The Pfeiffer women's soccer team (10-5-2) played to a scoreless draw on Wednesday evening against local rival Catawba (10-5-2). The tie wraps up the non-conference portion of the schedule for the Falcons and extends their unbeaten streak to eight. Pfeiffer also extends is road unbeaten streak to 14 straight, with their last defeat coming at UNC-Pembroke on Sept. 11, 2013.

Pfeiffer had more of the offensive attack in the contest, finishing the match with an 18-11 advantage in shots and a 12-5 lead in shots on goal. Pfeiffer was particularly aggressive in the second overtime period, firing four shots in the 10 minute frame.

Blakeney Blair made five saves and posted her fourth shutout of the season. Bethany Davis recorded 12 stops for the Indians.

Catawba received four yellow cards in the match, all in the second half.

Aaliyah Jackson led the Falcons attack, taking five shots and putting four on frame. Hannah Hill took three shots and put two on goal, while three other Falcons recorded two shots. Karen Presnell led the hosts with three shots, all on goal.

The only category Pfeiffer didn't lead in was corner kicks, as Catawba took a 10-5 advantage.

The Falcons were able to dodge a bullet in the 87th minute as a handball in the box led to a penalty kick for Catawba. Hoever, Kate Weisner sent her shot wide and the game remained tied. Davis made three saves in the second overtime to secure the draw.

Pfeiffer returns to action on Friday as they travel to Belmont Abbey at 1 p.m. With a win, Pfeiffer would lock up the number one seed and home field advantage throughout the Conference Carolinas Tournament.
