MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Nathan Regis and Martim Galvao were named to the First Team All-Conference and four other Falcons earned All-Conference accolades as announced by Conference Carolinas on Thursday afternoon. Pfeiffer has set the school record for most wins in a season (15) and most shutouts in a season (9) en route to earning the No. 2 seed in the Conference Carolinas Tournament.ÂÂ
Jaime Siaj, Roberto Soares and Niko Andrade earned Second Team All-Conference accolades, while record-breaking goalkeeper Nicolas Dulac earned a spot on the Third Team.
Regis had an outstanding season and led the conference in goals (16) and points (41) and was second in the league in assists (9). Regis had an eight game stretch from Sept. 13-Oct. 6 where he recorded at least one point in each contest and had six matches where he recorded two or more goals. In Pfeiffer's Oct. 22 victory over North Georgia, the sophomore recorded his first career hat trick and set a career-high with six points. Last season, Regis was voted to the Third Team All-Conference.
Joining Regis on the First Team was freshman Martim Galvao who enjoyed a spectacular rookie season. Despite missing two matches, Galvao ranked in the top 10 in the league in goals, assists and points during conference matches. The Portugal native produced a monster effort in Pfeiffer's Oct. 11 win over North Greenville, recording three goals, two assists and eight points, while recording Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honors.
Three Falcons were members of the Second Team All-Conference, two rookies and one veteran. First year players Jaime Siaj (8 g, 5 a) and Roberto Soares (9 g, 3 a) were joined by senior defender Niko Andrade (3 g, 2 a).
Goalkeeper Dulac was a Third Team selection after breaking school records for wins (14) and tying the record for shutouts in a season (8). Dulac went 14-4 and missed only one match in net as the sophomore improved his career win total to 23.
The Falcons return to action this evening as they take on Barton at 8 p.m. with a spot in the Conference Championship game on the line. The winner will take on the victor of the earlier Limestone vs. Lees-McRae contest in Saturday's championship.
