Ferrum, Va. -- The women's soccer match pitting Pfeiffer University against Ferrum College was stopped following numerous lightning delays on Wednesday afternoon in Ferrum, Va.
Played at W.B. Adams Stadium, the non-conference game was halted after 45 minutes of play and could not be restarted due to repeated lightning strikes in the Ferrum area.
The match is officially ruled a no contest.
At this time, it is unsure if the match will be continued or started over.

THE BASICS
The two teams played through a scoreless first half. Ferrum outshot Pfeiffer 7-5 and finished the first half with a 2-1 edge in corner kicks. Pfeiffer goalkeeper Haley-Hanson Friday (Gastonia, N.C.) played all 45 minutes in net for the Falcons with one save.
UP NEXT
After playing their first six matches on the road, Pfeiffer will play their first home match of the season this upcoming Saturday, Sept. 25 as part of the annual Pfeiffer University Homecoming festivities.
The Falcons will entertain USA South rival Greensboro College. Kickoff is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. from Lefko Field.
