Murriel Scores Four in Pfeiffer Women's Lacrosse Opener
Atlanta, Ga. (Feb. 12, 2022) – Pfeiffer University senior
Alexis Murriel scored four goals in the Falcons 2022 women's lacrosse opener at Oglethorpe University, but it was not enough as the stormy Petrals took the 17-7 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
Oglethorpe opened the scoring at 13:04 on an unassisted goal from Kendall White but Pfeiffer senior
Alexis Murriel (Gastonia, N.C.) responded at 11:37 with an unassisted marker of her own to tie the game at 1-1. Oglethorpe then had a seven goal outburst to make it 8-1 after the first quarter.
Second Quarter
Murriel would get her second goal of the game, as she opened the second quarter scoring at 14:20 on another unassisted goal. Oglethorpe would add four more goals, making it 12-2 before Pfeiffer's
Chloe Johnson (Fort Mill S.C.) scored her first career goal at 5:49 to make it 12-3. Two more Oglethorpe goals to close the quarter provided the 14-3 margin at halftime.
Third Quarter
Johnson got her second goal of the game at 10:40 to make the score 15-4, but Oglethorpe once again got a pair of goals to make it 17-4 at the end of the frame.
Fourth Quarter
Murriel scored a pair of goals, the first coming at 14:15 and the second at 12:30 to make it 17-6. Â Pfeiffer
Analise Robinson notched her first career goal at 7:31 to provide the 17-7 final.
Inside the Box Score
In addition to her team-high four goals, Murriel had a team-best five ground balls and had three caused turnovers.
Johnson was strong in her collegiate debut, scoring twice, scooping up three ground balls and causing one turnover.
Sophomore
Julia Barbato (West Palm Beach, Fla.) had three ground balls while
Kendra Odom (Lincolnton, N.C.) had a pair in her first collegiate game.
