Carthage College Downs Pfeiffer Women's Lacrosse
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 19, 2022) – Visiting Carthage College jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back in downing Pfeiffer University 22-3 in a nonconference women's lacrosse game at N.E. Lefko Field on Saturday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Carthage scored the first six goals of the game, all within a five-minute span to jump ahead 6-0. Pfeiffer broke the scoring streak at 2:23 when
Alexis Murriel (Gastonia, N.C.) took the draw control and raced downfield to score her sixth goal of the season to make it 6-1.
Sophomore
Julia Barbato (West Palm Beach, Fla.) took a pass from fellow sophomore
Chloe Johnson (Fort Mill, S.C.) with 44 seconds left in the quarter to bring the score to 7-2. Carthage added another goal with 14 seconds remaining in the quarter to go up 8-2.
In the second quarter, the Firebirds went on another streak, scoring five goals to take the 13-2 lead. Freshman
Analise Robinson (Winston-Salem, N.C.) notched a goal on an assist from Barbato with 4:09 left in the second quarter to make it 13-3.
In the third quarter, Carthage held Pfeiffer scoreless while building their lead to 19-3. They added three more goals in the fourth quarter to provide the 22-3 final.

In addition to her goal, Robinson had a team-best four ground balls in the win and also caused a pair of turnovers.

Pfeiffer goalkeepers
Jordan Pendergraft (Apex, N.C.) and
Kendra Odom (Lincolnton, N.C.) combined for seven saves on the day, with Pendergraft registering four and Odom making three stops. Â
