Pfeiffer Women's Lacrosse Drops Heartbreaker to Ferrum, 15-14
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 5, 2022) – Visiting Ferrum College scored the go-ahead goal with 1:01 left in the fourth quarter to down Pfeiffer University in the women's lacrosse home opener at Lefko Field on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons and Panthers battled to a 5-5 tie trough the first two quarters, but Pfeiffer seemed to be taking control, as the Falcons scored three goals to open the third quarter to lead 8-5.Â
Tracy Torrez and
Julia Barbato netted two up-goals to start the quarter, with Barbato cashing in with a down-goal to provide the margin.
Pfeiffer would push the lead to 12-7, but five straight scored from Ferrum locked the game at 12-12, with 13:51 left in the fourth quarter.
Barbato scored two more goals, giving Pfeiffer the 14-13 advantage with 9:28 left. Ferrum tied the game with 5:03 left and got the eventual game-winner from Willow Cooper with 1:01 left, making the score 15-14.
Inside the Box Score
Barbato scored a season-best six-goals and had an assist in the loss. Teammate
Alexis Murriel continued her hot streak, scoring five goals while dishing a pair of assists. Murriel also controlled 10 draw controls and had a team-high eight ground ball.
Freshman
Analise Robinson had a pair of goals and an assist for Pfeiffer to round out the scoring.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Jordan Pendergraft had 10 saves on the afternoon while facing 25 shots.
