Pfeiffer Women's Lacrosse Drops USA South Opener to Methodist
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 15, 2024) – The Pfeiffer women's lacrosse team fell to visiting Methodist University by a 20-9 score in the USA South opener for both teams on Friday afternoon at Lefko Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In a hotly contested first quarter, Pfeiffer opened the scoring at 14:12 when
Analise Robinson found the back of the net with an assist from senior
Julia Barbato. Methodist would respond nearly two minutes later to tie the game at 1-1. Robinson put Pfeiffer ahead 2-1 on an unassisted goal at 10:13, but Methodist would score the next three goals to jump ahead 4-2.
Chloe Johnson and Barbato scored back-to-back goals for Pfeiffer to draw even at 4-4, but Methodist took the 5-4 lead at the with 2:44 left in the quarter on an unassisted score from Mikayla Ramos.
Methodist would go on the score the next three goals to start the second quarter to boost their lead to 8-4.
Sophomore
Skyla Jo Charette scored a player-up got for Pfeiffer to pull to 8-5, but Methodist went ahead 10-5 on two quick goals at 3:39 and 3:19 of the second quarter.
Johnson would score another player up goal for Pfeiffer at 2:05 of the second quarter, but Methodist would score the final goal of the quarter to provide the 11-6 halftime score.
The Monarchs would go on to outscore Pfeiffer 4-2 in the third quarter and 5-1 in the fourth to provide the 20-9 final.

Jordan Pendergraft would make a career-best 29 saves on the afternoon.Â
Chloe Johnson would lead the way with four goals while Charette and Robinson each added a pair of scores. Barbato would have one goal and a pair of assists to finish with three total points for the Falcons.
Robinson and Barbato would each have three ground balls while Robinson led Pfeiffer with three caused turnovers and three draw controls.
