Pfeiffer Women's Lacrosse Falls 12-11 in Season Opener at Warren Wilson
Misenheimer, N.C. (Feb. 18, 2025) – The Pfeiffer University women's lacrosse team dropped a 12-11 hard fought decision in the 2025 season opener at Warren Wilson College on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Warren Wilson took the 1-0 lead early in the first quarter, only to see Pfeiffer respond with goals from
Cerys Reid and
Skyla Jo Charette to take the 2-1 lead. WWC closed the first quarter with a pair of goals and added the first goal of the second quarter to bolt to the 4-2 lead.
Back-to-back goals from
Khamani Spencer drew Pfeiffer even at 4-4, but WWC responded with two scores to jump up 6-4.
Charette then had a pair of goals in the second, both unassisted to once again draw the Falcons even at 6-6.
WWC then scored a pair of goals at the end of the second to take the 8-6 lead into halftime. Another pair of Owl scores in the third made the score 10-6, but
Victoria Howard scored at 12:11 of the third quarter to pull Pfeiffer to 10-7.
Down 11-7, Charette scored again to pull to 11-8. Warren Wilson scored their final goal of the game at the 6:48 mark of the third quarter to go up 12-8. Pfeiffer mounted a comeback bid, scoring once more in the third and two times in the fourth quarter to pull to 12-11, but could not get the equalizer, with WWC coming away with the win.

Inside the Box Score
Skyla Jo Charette finished with seven points on the afternoon, as she scored six goals and added an assist. She also had three caused turnovers, two ground balls and one draw control.
Victoria Howard and
Khamani Spencer each scored twice for Pfeiffer, with Howard also adding an assist. Howard also had six ground balls and five draw controls on the afternoon.
Defensively,
Dakota Dominic made nine saves in goal for the Falcons.
Up Next
Pfeiffer is scheduled to return to The Village for their home opener on Thursday, Feb. 27 with a  4:00 p.m. home game against Sweet Briar College.
