Women's Volleyball to Host Annual Dig Pink Match on TONIGHT, October 29th; Online Auction Setup!

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - This fall, thousands of teams from around the country will be participating in the Side-Out Foundation's Dig Pink® National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally. High school and college teams will promote breast health education in the community as well as raise funds to further research. Pfeiffer University will hold its annual Dig Pink Match on Friday, October 29th at 7:00 p.m. when the Lady Falcons take on the Lady Fleet of Erskine College. A live auction feature is now also available.

Dig Pink® events give spectators the opportunity to become involved by making donations to the cause and by pinking out the events (i.e. donning pink to show their support). Dig Pink® event t-shirts will be sold at various local spots during home matches Saturday, October 23 and Friday, October 29th and via e-mail at Ben.Guiliano@fsmail.pfeiffer.edu for $15.

The proceeds from all donations will benefit the Side-Out Foundation, a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

For more information about the event, please contact head coach Ben Guiliano at Ben.Guiliano@fsmail.pfeiffer.edu or by calling 704-640-9312.

From Pfeiffer University Volleyball

With your help, we can reach our goal of at-least $500. We have t-shirts for sale, a silent auction during the match, an awareness wall, and of course, our Dig Pink match. Please see the website for details about all of these events and email or call with any questions you may have. Donations will be accepted at each home match and through the website.

This year, our Dig Pink campaign and match has become more personal for the Pfeiffer Volleyball family in the last week. We will have a special tribute next Friday. Please help us support this great cause with whatever resources you can and spread the word to family and friends.

The Side-Out Foundation

The Side-Out Foundation is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. It has raised millions of dollars for breast cancer research nationally through volleyball tournaments, clinics, and rallies. Funds are currently devoted to cutting edge targeted therapies and molecular profiling. Side-Out also devotes a portion of the funds to local and national cancer support organizations.

Its name underscores the purpose of the organization: a "side-out" in volleyball occurs when one team wins a point while its opponent is serving, thereby regaining serve or control of play. Likewise in the war against breast cancer, the Side-Out Foundation will support health care professionals in their pursuit of practical solutions for women and men with this dreaded disease, thus enabling those affected to regain control of their lives.
