TIGERVILLE, S.C. - In a game that was delayed by lightning, the Pfeiffer women's soccer team (7-5, 5-1 CC) won its third straight match with a 2-0 victory at North Greenville (0-10-1, 0-5-1) on Saturday afternoon. In their three game winning streak, Pfeiffer has outscored its opponents 10-2.
Pfeiffer's Aaliyah Jackson and Tori Jackson were the goal scorers in the contest. Blakeney Blair made two saves to earn the shutout in net.
Neither team would score in the first half, though Pfeiffer clearly had the upper hand. The Falcons fired 12 shots in the first 45 minutes, compared to just one shot from the hosts. However, Pfeiffer was unable to find the back of the net but the pressure would eventually pay off for the Falcons.
Aaliyah Jackson broke through for Pfeiffer in the 53rd minute on an unassisted score for the eventual game-winning tally. For Jackson, it was her third goal of the year and 24th of her career. Conversely, Tori Jackson's goal in the 73rd minute was the first of the freshman's career and cemented the Pfeiffer victory.
For the match, Pfeiffer held an 18-3 advantage in shots and a 6-4 lead in corner kicks.
Pfeiffer is a perfect 3-0 on the road this season and the Falcons have won their last 10 road matches dating back to last season.
Pfeiffer looks to continue its hot play in road matches when they travel to Barton on Wednesday afternoon for a 2 p.m. match.
