BANNER ELK, N.C. - The Pfeiffer women's volleyball team (0-8, 0-1 CC) posted its second best hitting percentage and fewest errors in a match but fell 3-0 to Lees-McRae (5-4, 1-0) in their Conference Carolinas opener.
Pfeiffer didn't have an answer for the Bobcats' Jariliz Cotte who finished the match with 16 kills. Junior Kelsey Blauser finished the match with a season-high .467 hitting percentage and tied her season-high with eight kills in the loss. Andrea Lopez also tallied a season-best seven kills in the match.
Lees-McRae won the match by scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-16. The Bobcats finished with a .244 hitting percentage and recorded 11 service aces.
Emily Wall had 19 assists in the match and Haley Denny led the Falcons with nine digs. McKenzie McDonald and Blauser each recorded three assisted blocks on the evening.
Madison Martin had a game-high 13 digs for the Bobcats and Siarra Walker was a force with six assisted blocks.
Pfeiffer looks to get untracked with a pair of home matches this weekend. On Friday night, Pfeiffer hosts North Greenville at 7 p.m. The following afternoon, the Falcons host Southern Wesleyan at 2 p.m.ÂÂ
