MISENHEIMER, NC - Brae Buster scored two goals and Kayla Rodriguez scored a goal and had an assist as the Pfeiffer Women's Soccer team delivered a convincing 4-0 win over Southern Wesleyan University on Saturday. The Falcons improve their record to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in Conference Carolinas while Southern Wesleyan drops to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
It was a dominating performance from the start as the Falcons scored three goals in the first 21 minutes of action. Gretchen Dettlinger began the scoring in the fifth minute on an unassisted score giving her four goals on the season. Rodriguez added the second tally only five minutes later on a great personal effort to beat the Warrior keeper.  Buster scored her first of the contest at the 21:46 mark and tallied her second strike just over three minutes into the second half. The Pfeiffer defense held the Warriors in check for the entire game resulting in the shut out for the Falcons. Aaliyah Jackson saw her first action of the season as well in a complete team effort.
Kate Halligan was credited with the win in net as the sophomore made one save. Halligan gave way to Deidre Gilley who played the final 27:11 and made one stop.
Courtney McNeil suffered the loss for the Warriors, dropping to 0-1 on the year.
Pfeiffer outshot Southern Wesleyan 21- 4 while also holding a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks. Pfeiffer returns to action on Tuesday when they host the UNC-Pembroke Braves at Lefko Field starting at 4pm.
