TIGERVILLE, S.C. - The Pfeiffer women's soccer team (4-5-1, 2-2-1 CC) extended its winning streak to three games with a 4-2 victory over North Greenville (4-5, 1-4) on Saturday morning. Four different players found the back of the net for the Falcons in the Conference Carolinas battle.
The game was originally scheduled to take place at N.E. Lefko Field but the weather forced the match to North Greenville's turf field and changed the time to an 11 a.m. start. However, none of these changes affected the Falcons.
In the sixth minute, Kirsten Martin netted her first goal as a member of the Falcons with Aaliyah Jackson getting credited with the assist. The Falcons would strike for two goals in a 1:09 span to put the match away. At the 24:27 mark, Brae Buster tallied her fifth goal of the season and has found the back of the net in three straight matches. Right after Buster's goal, Jackson kept the Crusaders reeling with her 35th career strike.
North Greenville's Lindsay Tuten scored the first of her two goals in the match in the 56th minute to cut the deficit to 3-1. At the 81:19 mark, Miracle Campbell scored her second goal in the past three games to seal the victory. Tuten would pull NGU within two in the 83rd minute but the Crusaders wouldn't get any closer.
Deidre Gilley made three saves to improve to 3-4-1 in net. Pfeiffer held a 12-8 advantage in shots on the afternoon and put 11 of those shots on frame. Madelynn Schober suffered the loss in goal for the Crusaders as she made seven saves.
Pfeiffer looks to continue their winning streak on Wednesday as they travel to Mount Olive on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. match.
