GREENSBURG, PN-  For the second time this season the Pfeiffer men's lacrosse team (4-2) dropped a one goal heartbreaker, this time it was at the hands of  No, 9 Seton Hill (4-0 )13-12, on Saturday afternoon.
Mike Triolo led the Falcons scoring three goals and dishing out two assists.Â
The Griffins were led by Zach Hartmann who had a game-high six points, scoring four goals and adding four assists. Zach Rusch and Sean Stanners each contributed three goals in the game winning effort.Â
The game was back and forth each team taking turns going on runs. Pfeiffer started the scoring when Eddie Renaud set up
Cole Sheen for a goal with 11:38 left in the first quarter. Triolo put an end to a 3-0 run by Seton Hill by scoring an unassisted goal with 30 second left in the first pulling Pfeiffer within one 4-3. The teams were knotted at seven at the end of the first half.
The Griffins scored two goals in the last 2:13 in the third quarter to take a two point lead into the final period. Renaud pulled Pfeiffer with in one goal scoring a man up goal with 14:48 left in the game. Â A goal by Hartman would put Seton Hill back up by two 13-11. With 7:26 left
Kyle Pauwels pulled the Falcons back within one, scoring a goal that was assisted by Renaud. However, Pfeiffer would only get two shots in the last 7:26, their best chance was a shot wide by
Cole Sheen with 2:21 left.
Renaud scored two goals and contributed two assists recording four points in the game. Both Sheen and Pauwels added two goals and
Cole Paciejewski scored a goal and dished out an assist.
Pfeiffer loses only their second game of the season, by a combined two goals. In their last lost Pfeifer fell in overtime to No.10 Queens 11-10.
The Falcons return home on Saturday, March 14 for a conference game against Emmanuel. Game time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
