Box Score MISENHEIMER, NC- The Pfeiffer women's volleyball team dropped their conference opener to Lees-McRae on Tuesday night 3-1. Freshman Kayla Hyatt had a big match recording her first career double-double with a team-high 11 kills and 12 digs for the Falcons.
Following a 25-19 first set loss, Pfeiffer was able to draw the match even 1-1 following a 25-22 victory. The Bobcats scored six of the first eight points to grab a 6-2 lead. The Falcons answered back, when a Hyatt kill sparked a 5-1 run. Shenelle Charlot capped off the run with a kill tying the set 16-16. The teams continued to fight back and forth then Pfeiffer grabbed the victory following a Hyatt kill and an attack error by Lees-McRae. The Falcons were unable to get back on track during the next two sets dropping both by a score of 25-13.
Jordan Banta led the way for the Bobcats recording a match-high 18 kills and adding 9 digs. Allyson Schillinger recorded a double-double with a match-high 29 assists and 12 digs for the Bobcats.
Katie Wilson ran the Falcons offense with a team-high 22 assists adding one kill and three digs. Charlot contributed with seven kills and nine digs and Hope Moua added 11 digs for Pfeiffer.
The Falcons hit the road on Friday, September 16 for a 7:00 p.m. showdown against Erskine.
