Box Score 2 MISENHEIMER, NC- The Pfeiffer women's volleyball team started day two of the Falcon Classic falling to Virginia Wise 3-0. Shenelle Charlot had an excellent match notching her first double-double of the season recording 12 kills and 10 digs.
Pfeiffer dropped the first set 25-12 and the second set 25-16. The Falcons jumped ahead of the Cavaliers scoring six of the first seven points to start the third set. The run was highlighted by a Charlot service ace and back-to-back kills by Erin Errington and Talor Hewitt. A 6-0 run by the Falcons was ignited by a Charlot kill and a Katie Wilson service ace, pushing Pfeiffer's lead to 19-11. However, Virginia Wise scored 15 of the last 25 points, to complete the sweep.
Karley Allen led all players with 15 kills and 12 digs for the Cavaliers. Lindsey Tucker added a match-high .467 hitting percentage and recorded four total blocks.
Wilson had a good all-around performance for Pfeiffer recording a match-high 26 assists, to go along with two services aces and three digs. Kayla Hyatt contributed with seven kills and nine digs.
In the nightcap, Pfeiffer dropped a 3-0 decision to tournament champion, Slippery Rock (4-0).
The Falcons return to action on Tuesday night as they host Catawba at 7 p.m.
