MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer women's soccer team (8-4-1, 7-1 CC) ran its winning streak to five in a row with a convincing 4-0 win over King (4-9, 2-5) on Senior Night. Pfeiffer scored twice in the first eight minutes to take control of the contest and never looked back.
Kat Kelley started the scoring 6:08 into the match when she took a cross from senior Hailey Havelind to net her sixth goal of the year. Just 1:18 later, Havelind who loft a pass to senior Brae Buster who beat the keeper for her fourth tally of 2016 and 25th of her career. With just 25 seconds left in the opening half, Buster assisted on Ryanna Hammond's team-high seventh goal of the year.
The first half would end with King attempting just one shot, compared to 12 from the Falcons.
Aryana Harvey would notch the final score of the match in the 81st minute. Hammond was credited with the assist on Harvey's goal.
Kaley Hyatt earned the win in goal, improving to 7-4-1 on the season. Deidre Gilley also saw action in the match.
For the night, Pfeiffer held a 20-4 advantage in shots and a 4-2 lead in corner kicks.
The Falcons look to keep their winning streak alive as they host Converse at 5 p.m. in their final home Conference Carolinas match of the regular season.
